Deryk Houston's wide range of work demonstrates how the arts provide ways for us to understand each other as human beings. His paintings focus on life cycles, fertile ground, community and children's rights.
His solo exhibitions have been seen in the former Soviet Union, Scotland, The United States, Canada, and Iraq. His work is the subject of a National Film Board documentary “From Baghdad to Peace Country”.
In 1999, a life-altering journey to Baghdad changed the focus of his work. His canvas would be the earth. His inspiration would be peace.
